Not how I usually spend my Thursday afternoons but this Thursday I attended an afternoon tea on the Sunborn Yacht, London.
When you first arrive the lift takes you tot he main foyer, where lies a golden spiral staircase to the upper levels. You follow the spiral and dazzle of the massive chandelier and get to the deck where the afternoon tea is served. The setting was grand with a relaxing feel. It was different from the usual afternoon tea, I would 100% recommend to anyone.
The best part about all of this is that I actually found a voucher on Wowcher that meant my mum and I had this for just £50. When we arrived the friendly host met us and sat us at our table, which was overlooking the barge. There was a choice of teas that arrived in a teapot. Then came the food, served on a square platter with sectioned departments, where led individual treats. There were five different sandwiches, a panacotta, two warm scones with a choice of two jams and a fresh cream, a chocolate brownie with a layer of ganache and salted caramel drizzle and a Lemon macaron. My personal favourite was the brownie. After the food we had a little while for it to settle before having a cocktail to end the afternoon.
Overall the experience was incredible and the food was divine. Something that I won't forget. If I was going for an afternoon tea anywhere I would always think of this yacht first.
